Before you begin reading this I feel as though I should introduce myself. I am The Attendee. I make it my business to follow the world and write down all it shows me. This is my first piece of work that I feel like sharing with others, and if you're reading this then that means you.

I am not a religious person, nor do I come from a religious family. My parents are atheist, yet I do not associate myself with such a denomination. I view religion as a way for people to find answers in life without looking for it themselves.

Don't misunderstand me, I'm not saying religion is a bad thing, and again I am not saying it is a good thing. Religion and their subsequent faiths have been ahead of the human timeline since man first forged tools from rock. The idea of another force outside our cognizance dictating our conscious is no alien idea to anyone born past the age of stone. Those who choose to believe in whatever they choose to believe are not a threat to anyone else's. When it comes to the immortal idea the only one who can vanquish it from our minds is the one who controls said mind.

This brings me to what you are about to read. This was a very interesting experience for me and I believe it deserves to be shared with the world. What I did was take two Sweet Basil plants, named them, gave them a way to define their mortality, watched their growth, and death, using it as a catalyst for thought. I placed one plant outside, abandoning him as soon as his roots touched the wet soil. I would only watch, never to intervene, not alerting it to my presence beyond the day of planting. The other would grow on my windowsill, receiving fresh water every day, a symphony of beautiful music whenever I would be absent, and the safety and assurance of living inside.

What you are about to read is unedited. All entries come straight from my personal journal which I devoted entirely to the following. Ladies and Gentlemen, I bring you The Worst Part About Living Here, a tale of life, death, drugs, and the mind that has to comprehend it all at the same time...
